Keeping it Green: Digitally Signing Contracts

By on March 13, 2009 | Leave a comment

The Idea

Today’s youth are obsessed with getting something now. They don’t want to wait for anything. In fact, some even get extremely upset when Facebook takes a tad longer than usual to load on their cell phones making it “almost impossible” to update their status. Now I won’t lie; I, too, am one of those that likes instant gratification. Whether that means being able to jump on Google street view from my iPhone, watching the latest youtube video gone viral, or simply watching digital broadcast TV, I don’t want to deal with hiccups in service or be tethered to the wall by my ethernet cable.

Since starting Jelyco in 2008, I’m constantly on the lookout for new ways to get things done. One of the things I disliked most about doing business with others was the time it takes to get contracts signed. Usually it means printing one out, mailing it to the client, having them sign it, mailing it back, having us sign it, make copies, and then mail those copies back out to the client. That whole process can take up to a month. Being an online company, I tossed out the idea that someone should have a way to digitally sign these things so they could be signed in just hours instead of months. Not only would this help us get to work faster (since we don’t start work until we have a signed contract), but it will also help save a few trees in the process.

Welcome XL Communities

Although I am a little behind on my blog updates, I wanted to take a minute to welcome Kevin McCallum and XL Communities to the Jelyco “inner circle!” Ok, so we don’t really have an inner circle per say, but we are happy to work with Kevin nonetheless.
Kevin is the founder of XL Communities, a FREE service that allows you to easily create an online community for your group or organization.
Jelyco has created a business card to support Kevin in his future endeavors and is in the processing of negotiating more work. Below you will find the card that Kevin is using to attract interested parties, if you are curious about this service and think you may benefit from your own online community, please feel free to contact Kevin from the information provided below.

Honey-spiced Tofu Chili

Ok, I said there would be recipes and now we’ve got a recipe! So, I’m not a health food nut or even a vegetarian (however I am respectful of those who are) but this chili is amazing. If you aren’t sure about tofu or meatless chili in general, I highly recommend this.

Happy New Year from Jelyco!

By on January 5, 2009 | Leave a comment

Well, we are a little untimely with our well wishes but better late than ever! We hope everyone is having no problem sticking to their New Year’s resolutions and that the holidays were not completely exhausting. (Like they were for some of us!!)
The New Year is a good time to reflect and examine the current processes used in your life as well as your business. Day-to-day communications, publications, and media are all places that can be improved. I’ve put together a short list to ponder while you are busy accomplishing all the other resolutions.

  • Does your website direct visitors to complete a certain action? (Such as contacting you for more information, requesting a quote, signing up for your newsletter, etc.)
  • Have you tried using an email campaign to market a specific product or service to your customers?
  • How have you made your products or services known to your customers?
  • How do your clients think of you and your brand?

If you believe that your company could benefit from taking a closer look at the above ideas, contact us today and we’ll work on helping you set some resolutions for your company during 2009!

Voice-Ring Overview

Voice-Ring, a company specializing in broadband telephone services for small to medium sized businesses, approached Jelyco for a website redesign. We provided an updated design, increased user login options, and a more usable website structure.
Jelyco also hooked up an existing database of customers and contacts for the new site. Users can now manage their calls directly through the Voice-Ring site instead of going to a separate login page.
Tim Nelson, the contact person for Voice-Ring, states “It has been great working with you guys, and I hope to be doing more with you soon.”
